Reply with quote | #1 | So I wrote about picking a team to hate the other day, and it spawned a little banter on the facebook page, so I thought I would start a thread here....
Tell me the team you think is easiest to hate! (You can share why too, if you care to.)

The Yanks should win this competition hands down! They have a 2 trillion dollar payroll with an overpaid player at every position. Despte that payroll they haven't won the world series in about 10 years!! Their players make so much money that they lead the league in roid users & dealers. Just go down the list. We get a roids apology from them every year. First it was Giambi, then Petite, followed by Rodriquez. Of course, Clemens mis-remembered his useage. This year they unveiled the new billion dollar Yankee Stadium with the easiest HR alleys in all of baseball. I look for more exotic drug use and stadium surprises in the future. Here's hoping they fall apart in the playoffs again this year. The Yanks are the easiest team in baseball to hate!! |

Glad to see you think the Yankees win the prize for most hated team. Apparently, as of yesterday that's not the only thing they have won. Hope you and Ozzie enjoy watching them in the playoffs.

Reply with quote | #5 | Sf1--I agree with you on all your points, but the "easiest HR alleys in baseball." That will remain to be seen, but it seems to me it's cooled down significantly HR-wise since the torrid early months.
I haven't done any research on this at all, but I'd put Chase Field (where AZ plays) or Great American Ballpark (Cincy) up higher than New Yankee Stadium as far as HR alleys go. In a few years, and the stats smooth out more, we'll know for sure.

Reply with quote | #6 | Hate the Yanks all you want. At least they spend the money that they rake in from their tv contract and ridiculous ticket prices on making the team better.
Everyone lies in the gutter, some chose to look at the stars. |

Reply with quote | #7 | It is hard to hate the Yankees when you look at the business aspects of it. The Yankees routinely lose more money than any team in baseball. They are willing to pay to win. I respect that.
However, it is just so easy to hate guys like A-rod and the constant east coast media lovefest with Jeter. |
