Reply with quote | #1 | Hey everyone,
I am new to the site and going to be helping Johanna take care of it. So I am going to be very active on the message board and hopefully get involved in some good discussons.
I guess my first question is, how is tonight's botched catch in the 9th inning going to effect Holliday's legacy with the Cardinals if they lose to the Dodgers?
Instead of the game ending and St. Louis splitting in LA they head home in a 2-0 hole having used their two best pitchers. Hopes in St. Louis were high considering they had the two best pitchers in the NL playoffs, but it now looks like they will be facing an insurmountable lead.
Will Holliday be the mid-season pick up that propelled the Cards into the playoffs or the goat that cost them the NLDS (if they lose of course)?
My opinion is that Holliday is very lucky to be playing in St. Louis. I think the fans there will get over it in time, which may not be the case if he was playing in Philadelphia or Chicago. |

Reply with quote | #2 | While he should have caught the ball, no one brought him to St. Louisto catch- in my opinion, it was his bad at-bat with Pujols on first an inning or two before which might be more troubling.
Cardinals fans will try to be supportive, my bet.
