I am a little dissapointed, not that the Yankees won per say but I was really looking forward to a game seven. When Utley struck out with two men on it was really the end.
Also, I am sure the real party was in the Bronx but I must say I was thoroughly dissapointed with the celebration in Manhattan. There was almost as many cops as fans, and even when a guy in a Ryan Howard jersey showed up the most the Yankees fans could muster was a "Phillies Suck" chant. Nothing compared to the debauchery that occured in Philly last year. |

Sorry about not having a seventh game , but you can always go to the Parade of Champions if you're looking for some more excitement. let's try to give some consideration to others.
The players - I think the players wanted to get the parade in on Friday rather than wait until Monday...so, thats why they wrapped it up in six.
The Japanese - let's not forget about all the tired people in Japan. The entire country of Japan has come to a standstill watching the most valuable player performance. They must be very proud and very tired.
Rumor - Apparently Scott Boras and Selena Roberts were planning a joint news conference to announce her departure from Sports illustrated. It was planned to be announced during the seventh inning stretch in game seven ...and nobody wanted to see that stuff.
And, whats the deal with you being disappointed about there being as many cops as fans in Manhattan? You got something against cops? Don't you think they are good fans? They dress well and are well behaved . And heck , don't you think they deserve the overtime?
Get some rest and go to the parade..you'll like it ! |

Reply with quote | #3 | Not a shot at the cops, but at the size of the crowd! There was probably only 100 people or so . I was expecting a lot more for a Yankees champioship.
I am looking forward to the parade though. And yes, unbelievable game from Matsui. |

Reply with quote | #6 | I was actually watching at a friend's apartment so we didn't get to Times Square until probably 45 minutes to an hour after the game was over, which I imagine was why the crowd had dispersed a bit. I have never been part of a post-championship celebration (being from Edmonton will do that to you), so I was just expecting a greater number of people. The people who were there were definitely very excited though.
An insane amount of people at the parade today though. Wow. |

The evil empire still sucks!! If you spend more than twice as much as the average team you should win it all more often than every nine years. Hopefully next year, CC & AJ's arms will fall off, Joba will get a real job in Nebraska and Mariano will retire. Also A-rod will marry Kate and get a double hernia in bed with her. |
